TECH TIP #5:
List of Materials Grid Will Not Populate

PROGRAM: Dayton on Disk 2000
OS:
Windows 95+
CAD SOFTWARE: AutoCAD2000+, Mechanical Desktop4.X+
PROBLEM:
The List of Materials (LOM) grid does not populate properly. It comes up with "------" instead of component descriptions.

Probable Cause:
An AutoCAD variable is in conflict with Dayton on Disk, causing the component block to be malformed. The variable "ATTREQ" must be changed from "0" to "1".

NOTE: Any component created BEFORE performing this fix will not be entered into future LOMs. Any component created AFTER performing this fix should populate the LOM correctly.

Quick Fix Procedure:

  1. At the AutoCAD Command Prompt, type the following:
    ATTREQ <ENTER>
    1 <ENTER>

This value should remain "1" until some other 3rd party AutoCAD plug-in changes it. If you find that you are required to change this frequently due to conflicts with other software, use the 'Toolbar MACRO Solution', listed below.

Toolbar MACRO Solution Procedure:

  1. Versatile ICON
    a) Right Click the "Dayton Versatile Catalog" icon
    b) Click "Customize" on the Icon Menu. The 'Customize Dialog' will appear
    c) Click the "Dayton Versatile Catalog" icon. The Versatile Catalog Macro properties will appear.
    d) Change the Macro Code to read as follows.
