TECH TIP #4:
Removing 'autoload' feature of Dayton on Disk

PROGRAM: Dayton on Disk 2000
OS:
Windows
CAD SOFTWARE: AutoCAD2000, AutoCAD 2002
PROBLEM:
You want Dayton on Disk to load only when needed and not to 'auto-load' in every AutoCAD drawing window.
SOLUTION: remove Dayton on Disk from the default AutoCAD Menugroups

Procedure:
To remove 'auto-loading' of Dayton on Disk

  1. At the AutoCAD command Prompt, type Menuload<ENTER>
  2. Under the 'Menu Groups' tab, click the group Dayton
  3. Click "UNLOAD". Dayton on Disk will no longer ;Auto-load'
  4. Click "CLOSE"
  5. Exit AutoCAD
  6. Launch AutoCAD (Dayton on Disk will not Auto Load)

To restore 'auto-loading' of Dayton on Disk:

  1. At the AutoCAD command Prompt, type Menuload<ENTER>
  2. Under the 'Menu Groups' tab, click the "BROWSE…" button
  3. Locate the folder containing Dayton_LOM. (Typically c:\Program Files\ACAD2000\)
  4. Right click the file 'Dayton_LOM.MNC'
  5. Click DELETE
  6. Click the file 'Dayton_LOM.MNS'
  7. Click OPEN
  8. Click LOAD
  9. Click Close
  10. Exit AutoCAD
  11. Launch AutoCAD (Dayton on Disk will Auto Load)

To Load Dayton on Disk for one Drawing Session only

  1. Launch AutoCAD
  2. Follow the RESORE Procedure above
  3. Draw you die set using Dayton on Disk
  4. Follow the REMOVE Procedure above
  5. Exit AutoCAD
