TECH TIP #3:
Installing/Re-Installing the Dayton Toolbar

PROGRAM: Dayton on Disk 2000
OS:
Windows
CAD SOFTWARE: AutoCAD2000, Mechanical Desktop 4.x, 5.x
PROBLEM:
Dayton Toolbar is not visible or Dayton Toolbar displays 'Smiley Faces' instead of DaytonOnDisk2000 icons. This problem has been reported as occurring in a system that is running 'Striker' Die Design software inside of AutoCAD.

Assumptions:
DOD2000 path: c:\program files\DaytononDisk2000
ACAD2000 Path: c:\program files\ACAD2000\
The Dayton toolbar is currently loaded in ACAD (with smiley faces)
NOTE: If your paths differ, adjust procedure below accordingly.

Procedure:

  1. Copy all .BMP files
    from the folder: C:\Program files\DaytononDisk\
    to the folder: C:\Program files\ACAD2000\
  2. Delete the file: C:\program files\ACAD2000\Dayton_LOM.MNC
  3. Execute the following commands inside AutoCAD
    a) Type "Menuload <ENTER>" at the AutoCAD prompt
    b) Click on the Dayton Menugroup
    c) Click "Unload"
    d) Click "Browse..."
    e) Select file: c:\program files\Acad2000\Dayton_LOM.MNS
    f) Click OPEN
    g) Click LOAD
    h) Click CLOSE
  4. Right Click in AutoCAD's "open toolbar area". You should get a cursor menu listing ACAD, Dayton and any other loaded menu files...
  5. Click Dayton---> DaytonOnDisk
  6. The toolbar should now appear with the correct icons.
