DayTride®
nitride
DayTride is a process where the surface of the steel absorbs nitrogen as a result of thermo-chemical treatment. The DayTride process treats all exposed surfaces of the product making it ideal for both punches and die buttons.

DayTiN®
titanium nitride
DayTiN (Titanium Nitride) has higher wear and galling resistance than DayTride. High hardness and low coefficient of friction, particularly when used in conjunction with lubricants, reduce abrasion and wear.

Alteration Code: XNT Approximate hardness: HV 2300
 
DayTAN™ DayTAN is an ultra-hard, high aluminum PVD coating. Absorbs shear stress and provides high temperature resistance. Ideal for HSLA, dual phase, and TRIP steels.

Alteration Code: XAN Approximate hardness: HV 3400
 
DayKoteTM DayKote is especially suited for heavy surface loading applications such as forming and extruding. It is limited to outside surfaces of simple shapes such as pilots and extrusion punches.

TiCN
titanium carbonitride
TiCN is a very hard PVD, thin film. Provides ultra hardness (harder than carbide) and superior abrasive wear resistance.

MoST® MoST is a PVD solid film lubricant coating. It works well on pre-painted, galvanized, stainless steel, brass and copper requiring little or no lubricant.
Alteration Code: XNM Approximate hardness: HV 2000 minimum
 
XNP XNP is a proprietary process for shaving operations as well as heavy surface loading applications such as forming and extruding. It has superior wear resistance to XND.
Alteration Code: XNP Approximate hardness: HV 3100
 
DayKool™ DayKool is not just a surface treatment but a complete cryogenic steel conditioning process. This process improves strength, toughness and dimensionally stability throughout the material.
